They are NOT ‘above the law’.
Or are they?
If ALL employers even THOUGHT that they would be prosecuted, with the resulting fines and/or imprisonment at the end of it all, they’d think long and hard before enabling illegals to thrive in the US.
The law demands equal justice. Prosecuting employers for an illegal act might help public impressions about the current hypocrisy of it all.
Let them loose, they get rehired. Only to repeat a year or three down the line.
